It's difficult for Australia to break new ground.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to hold a record if never given the chance.

Ultimately, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was out the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.
