Lando Norris Leads Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
Lando Norris has outperformed Oscar Piastri at each of the previous five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the closing stages of the practice session at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who took the points lead from his teammate by just one point after winning in Mexico City a fortnight back, outpaced the Australian by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver throughout the hour before sprint qualifying due at 6:30 PM GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the championship fight, lying with a 36-point deficit Norris, was classified in 17th place as his team opted for a different programme.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to go off, though minor, when he rotated at corner four early in the session.
Tsunoda spun out over the curbs on exit before sliding over the gravel trap, and was fortunate to avoid just a light touch of the barrier.
The Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton also spun, at the very end of the practice, turning around through the high-speed Mergulho corner before the final bend on to the pit straight.
Hamilton finished practice in 19th, just behind teammate Charles Leclerc.
The McLaren drivers were significantly quicker of the rest of the field, with the German's car P3, 0.619secs off the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was in fourth, with the Sauber of Bortoleto ahead of the Mercedes of Russell and Alpine's Gasly and the Williams of Carlos Sainz.
